Our commitment to making this website and our services usable by everyone, including people with disabilities.
ADU Construction is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We believe that everyone — regardless of ability — should be able to access information about ADU construction, request a consultation, and communicate with our team.
We are continually working to improve the user experience for everyone and to apply the relevant accessibility standards. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time task, and we welcome feedback that helps us do better.
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.
WCAG 2.1 Level AA is also the standard referenced by the U.S. Department of Justice in its ADA guidance for state and local government websites and is widely considered the practical benchmark for website accessibility in the United States.
Our design and development practices are aligned to this standard.
We audit the site using a combination of automated tools and manual testing.
We review and re-test the site for accessibility every quarter.
To support accessibility on this website, we have taken the following measures:
Specific features on this Site that support accessibility include:
Despite our efforts, some parts of the Site may have limitations. We are actively working to resolve them, and we list the issues we are aware of here so you know what to expect:
This Site uses third-party components, including Font Awesome for iconography, Leaflet and OpenStreetMap for maps, and Google Fonts for typography. While we select these components with accessibility in mind, we do not control them and cannot guarantee their full conformance with WCAG. If you encounter an issue with third-party content that prevents you from using the Site, please tell us so we can look for an alternative.
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our Site and services. If you experience any barriers, or if you have suggestions for improvement, please contact us using one of the following methods:
We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 business days and to provide the information or service you need in an alternative accessible format if necessary. If you need a document in a different format (for example, a larger print or a screen-reader-friendly version), let us know and we will provide it.
If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility concern, you may request that your concern be escalated to our management team. Written complaints can be sent to the mailing address above, marked "Attn: Accessibility Complaint." We will acknowledge your complaint in writing within 5 business days and provide a substantive response within 30 calendar days.
Accessibility is not a one-time project. We review the Site on a quarterly basis, re-test key user journeys with assistive technologies, and update our design and development standards as WCAG guidelines evolve. When we add new features or content, we review them for accessibility before they go live.
